The Adam Sandler Club (ASC) at Minnesota State University, Mankato will meet every other Sunday, usually at 7pm. Although by name it is a silly club, the mission of Adam Sandler club has always been far from silly. The mission of ASC is to provide any student, no matter what their major or background, a sense of community, belonging, And hopefully a reason to leave the stressors of school behind for a few hours. No membership dues needed. Many clubs have a specific interest, religion, career, cultural background, or fee to be paid needed in order to fit in. Not us. You just need to sit and watch a movie. Come as you are. Friends provided, we would love to have you. Anyone is welcome, member or not.

The Autosports Racing Team is an RSO interested in the participation/education of Drag Racing, as well as other forms of Motorsport such as Autocross, circuit, rally, ice, and off-road racing. This RSO also partakes in events related to Automotive Culture.  This RSO operates on a cycle of hosting one meeting, one technical seminar, one event/excursion related to Automotive Culture, and one sanctioned motorsport event per month.    The meeting: A standard club meeting dealing with planning, elections, or anything deemed appropriate and relevant to this RSO. The Technical Seminar: An informative talk or demonstration relating to drag racing rules, safety, or regulations. As well as motorsport technique, automotive systems, or some other topic relevant and appropriate to this RSO. The Automotive Culture event: Either the hosting of or the participation in an event related to the culture surrounding Automobiles and motorsports. Examples include, but are not limited to, cruises, visiting shops, attending meets such as "Cars & Coffee", or any other event relevant and appropriate to this RSO. The Legal Sanctioned Motorsport Event: The invitation to either spectate or partake in some form of legal motorsport. Such as Drag Racing, Autocross, Track days, Time attack, Rallycross, ice racing, and Off-Road Racing. Since there is a great deal of legal minutia surrounding the hosting such events, most if not all of these will be the attendance of a sanctioning body's events such as the SCCA or NHRA. It should be noted that for most if not all of these events, the RSO will not provide you with a means to partake in such events, such as a car and race helmet.

We are the Blue Skunks Ultimate Frisbee Club here at Mankato State! We are a team who is competitive while also growing and learning to enjoy the game. We travel for tournaments all across the United States. We promote a environment where everyone is a friend and to help each other out. Our practices are super fun and a great time, the tournaments are an even better time. It is a non contact sport, great for cardio, and just overall good for your exercise. No prior ultimate is needed to join the club.

Want to know what Chi Alpha is about?  We are about changed lives! Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship (XA) is a christian ministry that meets at Minnesota State University Mankato. We are aimed and reaching and teaching students about the love of Jesus Christ!   Jesus changes everything and nothing excites us more than to watch a student realize that they have been created with a God given purpose.  Our name comes from 2 Corinthians 5:20. “We are therefore Christ 's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. Mankato Cricket Club was established to spread cricket around the Mankato community and to inspire domestic and international students to take part in the game. Mankato Cricket Club arranges cricket tournament every semester since 2008 and successfully accomplished 19 tournaments with the participation of 10 universities from Midwest. We host the biggest tournament of Midwest in Mankato. We are also a member of ACC (American College Cricket). Soon we will be taking part in other tournaments that will be held in different states.

Mavathon is a school-wide philanthropy event held each year in February in the Centennial Student Union. Mavathon is one of many Dance Marathon events intended to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. Money raised at Mavathon is donated locally to Gillette's Children's Specialty Care in Mankato. Participants of this event are challenged to take part in hours worth of fun activities, staying on their feet for the entirety of the event. Families sponsored by Mavathon attend the event and share their stories, emphasizing the importance of philanthropic support.  Each year Mavathon has grown in participation and raised thousands of dollars for the cause. Mavathon's participants are divided into teams represented by different colors. Teams compete against each other to raise the most money and have the most members. The event has a strong Executive Council working diligently in the background. Positions include President, Operations Chair, Donations Chair, Recruitment & Outreach, Morale Director, PR & Marketing, Events & Entertainment, and Family Relations. Motivated students ensure the success of this event by taking up positions and contributing to an incredible cause. The Minnesota State University Marching Band (also known as The Maverick Machine) is the marching band of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The band generates enthusiasm and excitement by promoting school spirit and morale.  The group performs at home football, hockey, and basketball events. The Maverick Machine consists of five ensembles including the marching band, drumline, color guard, pep band, and the indoor winds, the first collegiate WGI winds group in Minnesota.The group was originally formed in the 1929, as one of the first instrumental music offerings, during the transition from the Mankato Normal School to the Mankato State Teachers College. The name 'Marching Machine' was added when Clayton Tiede took the reins of the band in 1960. The band had a longstanding tradition of excellence crossing many decades until the 90s when budgets became tighter and the marching band transitioned to a pep band only. The current band was reformed in 2013 as a result of the leadership of the current director, Michael Thursby.On average, the Maverick Machine plays at over 80 events per school year, for approximately 170,000 people.

Club Hockey is for students who want to continue to play hockey at a competitive level. The skill level is about the same as a solid Minnesota high school team. Tryouts are held in the middle of September of each year and they are usually very competitive. We have practice twice a week and play series every weekend usually on Friday and Saturday. Teams that we play include U of M, Duluth, UW Superior, UW Eau Claire, UW Lacrosse, Wisconsin, St. Thomas, St. Cloud, Winona State, and other colleges around the United States.

Interested in joining, but not sure if karate is right for you? Come in for practice and see what it's all about! No prior experience is required to train with us! Come to class wearing your comfortable exercise clothing. Avoid wearing watches, bracelets, and other jewelry as it may get damaged during class. Your first semester is Free! Then your cost is only $50.00 per semester after that. Everyone is welcome to join the karate club - undergrads, graduate students, alumni, and faculty! Members train at our club for many reasons and benefits, such as to... get exercise, improve balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength, gain confidence, practice a traditional art form, learn practical striking skills, compete collegiality, make new friends! Shotokan is one of five Japanese styles considered to be traditional karate. Shotokan is a fighting system consisting of basic kicks and punches which harness the entire body mass to deliver a strike in a balanced and efficient manner. Learning traditional karate means learning a new way to move, with muscle control and awareness, and not simply the geometric positions of the techniques. Shotokan has evolved from its roots in Okinawa to be a non-contact martial art, meaning there is much less risk for injury. Participants are required to learn a fine degree of control over their strikes. Class Schedule: Monday: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday: 6:00- 8:00 P.M. Thursday: 6:00-8:00 P. M.Location: Room PH102 at Minnesota State University, Mankato, MNShow up as many as 1 to 3 times a week, though keep in mind that the more you put into karate, the more you get out of it!
